MY NYC BEAUTY + TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Hair

Color

Dominic at Mark Ryan Salon (@domforletta)

He always nails the perfect color, whether I'm going blonde or brunette. Plus, he rocks a crop top better than all of us. Book ahead—you’ll need it!

Cut

Jessica Gillin at Jenna Perry (@jessica_gillin)

The queen of the cool-girl hair. I never even tell her what I want—she just *knows*. And when it comes to extensions, her keratips are so perfect  no one ever suspects a thing. But heads up, she books up fast, so book far in advance.

Blowouts

Joe (@jhandwerker) Jordan (@jordanluger)

Joe and Jordan at Jenna Perry are perfection. With experience under Jessica Gillin, they totally get it. Their blowouts are effortlessly chic, and I always leave feeling way better than when I walked in.

*Both offer awesome haircuts too!

Frizz Treatment

Rudy Peña at Julien Farel (@hairbyrudypena)

I feel very lucky to have found Rudy and his amazing 'defrizz' treatment. I was searching for something pregnancy-safe to tame my frizz, and a follower recommended him. Before pregnancy, I was using a different treatment that I loved at the time, but Rudy's treatment has given me even better results. It’s less intense than Keratin and simply takes the frizz away. The first week, it can feel a bit flatter, but in my opinion, it's worth it. What I love most is that while you can technically wash it out the next day, Rudy suggests leaving it in for an extra day to extend its life. It makes styling so much easier and even leaves your hair looking great when air-dried. I usually get a touch-up every 3-4 months, and now, I’m not sure I could live without it!

Nails

In-home Manis

Carolina (@carito_h86)

Once you have Carolina do your nails, it’s impossible to go anywhere else. No one does a naked nail like her! Even my husband insists on her for his pedicures, and Everly loves getting her nails done with her too. She comes right to your home, apartment, or hotel and leaves you feeling fabulous—kids included!

Japanese Gel

Mellow Bar (@mellowbarnyc)

There was a time when I was all about nail extensions and gel, so I have to give an honorable mention to Mellow Bar. If you're on the hunt for Japanese gel, definitely check them out—I used to see Chen, and she was great!

Eyebrows / Lashes

Eyebrows

Sania's Brow Bar (@saniasbrowbar)

Sania is an absolute brow expert with over 25 years in the game. She only uses tweezers—never wax—and her top tip for brow growth? No products on them, ever! It’s a family-run business, so all the girls working with her are her daughters or nieces, all trained by her. Plus, her brow pencil is my number one beauty must-have—I use it multiple times a day! I can’t recommend her enough.

Lash Lift

Jas Imani at Imani Imani Studio (@imaniimani.studio)

Lash lifts are a game-changer for former lash extension enthusiasts. They embody the “do more to do less” beauty philosophy, giving lashes a perfect curl that lasts all day, like you’re always wearing mascara. The process takes about an hour and lasts 5-6 weeks. While they might not offer the dramatic impact of extensions, the less-is-more approach can be a great option!

Massage / Body Treatments

Lymphatic Drainage

Angela Guerra (@angelaguerraskincare)

I love that lymphatic drainage has become more mainstream! It’s truly my favorite type of massage because of its many benefits. Think of it as a gentle tune-up for your body’s waste removal system. It boosts your immune system, reduces puffiness, and makes you feel lighter and more energized. It’s also incredibly relaxing and helps with fluid retention and overall wellness. I would go every week if I could, but a monthly visit is more typical for me. My favorite time to go is right after a plane ride!

Deep Tissue / Foot Massage:

Golden Dream Spa on Chambers

For a solid NYC hole-in-the-wall massage, this place is my top pick. If you want no-nonsense deep tissue work, check them out. I’ve had massages at fancy hotels, but nothing beats this $65 one-hour session. I also love coming here just for a foot massage—it's a great way to pamper yourself and take a break from the hustle. You can choose a quick foot fix or settle in for a longer session!

Facials / Treatments

Injections / Lasers

Diana with Dermduo (@dermduo)

Oh, how I love this woman! She’s my go-to for everything from lips and Botox to Thermage and Clear + Brilliant—the list just goes on. She’s improved my face in the most subtle and perfect way. I initially saw Diana for lip injections, which she’s now perfected as her specialty. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve appreciated her guidance for little tweaks here and there. I highly recommend a consultation with her; I trust her advice completely.

Fancy Facial

Jillian Wright (@jillianwrightfacials)

One of my favorite fancy facials leaves me looking like a baby! You book a set amount of time with her, and she uses whatever gadgets or treatments she thinks are best within that timeframe—no extra charges. The more time you book, the more in-depth the facial. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what she does! I can't recommend her enough!

Quick and Affordable Facial

Glowbar (@glowbar)

An express facial in just 30 minutes is perfect for a quick glow. I personally see Alize at the Tribeca location, and she does an excellent job! Sometimes, you don’t need a big, fancy facial—just something that gives you that fresh, radiant look. Being consistent with these has really improved my skin over the past few months. It’s budget-friendly and easy to fit into even the busiest schedule!

Microcurrent Facial

Shamara Bondaroff (@sbskin)

A microcurrent facial uses gentle electrical currents to stimulate facial muscles, essentially giving your face a workout. This treatment helps tone, lift, and firm the skin by boosting collagen production, improving circulation, and supporting cellular repair. Even without extractions, my skin looks noticeably better afterward. I first tried this facial before my wedding in 2017, and not only did I love the results, but I also formed a special friendship with Sharama, the queen of microcurrent, who has locations both here and in Miami.

Holistic Health

Acupuncture

Katherine Rohland (@manhattan_medicine_woman)

Remember the dad from *My Big Fat Greek Wedding* and his obsession with Windex for everything? That’s exactly how I feel about acupuncture. For any issue I have, I go straight to Katherine. She’s helped me with everything from neck pain to getting pregnant three times, and she even supports emotional well-being. I see her at least once a month, bare minimum! I’m a true believer in acupuncture!

Colonics

Colon Therapy NYC (@colontherapynyc)

If you've never had a colonic, I’m sorry to say you’re seriously missing out. I’ve been getting them for over a decade and wish more people would take the plunge. Not all colonics are created equal, though—my go-to is the gravity colonic. What’s that? It uses the natural force of gravity to gently cleanse the colon, making the process more comfortable and less intense compared to other methods. It clears out built-up waste and toxins, which boosts digestion, reduces bloating, and improves gut health. I often feel lighter, more energized, and even notice clearer skin afterward. Plus, it helps with regularity and can reset your digestive system, making it a great kickstart to healthier habits. I see Cassie, and she’s so knowledgeable, making you feel completely comfortable and taken care of during your session.
